This weekend, methehero.com launched the HeroSotlight. Every month the band will recognize a Hero for their dedication and outstanding performance in the community. The guys will reward that Hero with a free copy of their upcoming Self-Titled E.P., set for release later this month, a free t-shirt designed by guitarist Tony Eddy, and a pair of tickets to their upcoming show at B.F.E. Rock Club to hang out with the band!
“Anyone can be a Hero, and we just want to make sure that Heroes in our community have a chance to be recognized,” bassist Matthew Tawfiq told me when the campaign was launched. Tawfiq added that the prizes will vary month to month, but will only get better over time.

The band explained that being a Hero does not require putting on a cape and fighting crime pretending to be a bat – all it takes is gestures as simple as helping someone cross the street, or giving your time to a good cause.
